'Giving young people the power to change the world'
At Montem Academy, we believe it is important to give our pupils the opportunities to develop their communication skills and the ability to debate important current concerns or issues. Our aim is to ensure that our pupils have the confidence and skills that will enable them to be active, responsible citizens of the future.
At Montem Academy, pupils in Key Stage 2 participate in weekly Votes for Schools sessions. Votes for Schools provides resources for schools in the UK to prompt discussions on challenging current issues. Pupils vote and comment on a particular topical issue; this provides the pupils with an opportunity to be heard and to have an impact.
