Stripes? Spots? Checks? What’s your favourite repeating pattern?
This week, the nursery children have been learning all about patterns in clothing, especially in socks! We read a story where we learnt that we don’t need to look the same to be a good ‘pair.’
We have been describing the patterns and have worked hard to match odd socks to its partner to make a pair.
On Wednesday, the children came into school in a wide variety of colours and patterned clothing and each child was encouraged to explain the pattern that he/she was wearing. It also helped us to understand the idea of sorting and matching.
At the end of the week, the home corner became the Montem Laundrette and the children had a lot of fun washing socks and drying them in pairs.
