During R Time this week the children worked in partners to complete rubbings of coins. One of them was tasked with holding the piece of paper still over the coin, whilst the other used a colouring pencil to gently colour over. They found this difficult and it required a great deal of communication. We are continuing to instil the values of communication whilst making eye contact and using each other’s names.
In Geography we have continued to learn about our local area and the children have studied the maps in detail and made drawings of their own maps and labelled carefully. They have also developed their understanding of the physical and human features of the area in which they live.
In Science the children have been discussing the difference between hard and soft items and sorting the objects accordingly. This has been linked back to their previous learning to discuss the features of different materials, for example, fabric is usually soft.
