Mould like an Egyptian!
It was an arts and crafts galore this week as the children in Year 6 turned their hands to a spot of clay work to finish off their topic on Ancient Egypt. Over the past few weeks, the children have seen so many amazing examples of some of the breath-taking work out Ancient Egyptian cousins produce over 3000 years that they decided to have a crack at making their very own cartouches (a pharaoh’s signature), Canopic jars and Rosetta Stones. Working together and showing great team work skills, the children moulded their way back in time to produce some truly stunning work and even had a steady enough hand to carve a hieroglyphs or two on the finished product. Some brilliant pottery work- Tutankhamun would be proud!
