This week in Year 2 our young writers were learning how to write acrostic poems about space since we are learning about Neil Armstrong; the first man on the moon. The children are using similes and personification in their writing. They worked in small groups to locate different similes and personification for different pictures about space. Then they created their own posters which they used to write their acrostic poems. They had lots of discussions in their groups and used dictionaries and thesauruses to extend their work. This was a fun writing project.
