This week, the Nursery children have been reading the story of the ‘Owl Babies’ as part of their learning. They showed good listening and were able to join in with repeated refrains and predict how the story would end.
Many activities were related to the text and children were able to demonstrate their knowledge of numbers and make comparisons between ‘big’ and ‘small’. They also made puppets and masks of the main characters so that they could retell and act out the main events. Using a variety of different materials, owl houses were built of natural wood and owl babies were made out of cardboard tubes, play dough, feathers and matchsticks. What a busy week!
