This week year 5 put all their history knowledge to practice and took part in our Aztec History day. They began their day by making Aztec head-dresses using gems, feathers and Aztec print. The children also took part in a lesson making hot chocolate and discussed how the Aztecs used coco beans as currency and how the Aztecs had never tried milk! The children also created Aztec codices and put together secret Aztec messages. The afternoon's activity involved playing Tlachtli - an ancient Aztec game - and making Aztec temples. It was a wonderful experience for the children in year 5 and one they will be sure to remember.
