On Thursday 6th December, some of the children from Montem and their families had the amazing opportunity to visit the beautiful Christmas markets on the Southbank in London. Pupils from Nursery all the way up to Year 6 gathered to meet the parents at the school gates at 3pm to travel together into the city. It was wonderful to see the children’s reactions to the lights and attractions as the bank of the River Thames was transformed into a magical Christmas scene. The city looked spectacular with the Christmas decorations and the Christmas trees.
The children certainly enjoyed the sight of the London Eye as we approached! At the Christmas market, there were a range of stalls selling handmade gifts and plenty of different types of food and sweet treats. The families enjoyed embracing the festive markets with their children and had a lovely evening. Being able to explore the markets and visit London, as it prepares for the festive season, was very special and the families enjoyed the chance to see what the capital had to offer!
It turned out to be a fantastic evening and we are looking forward to the next family event in the Summer term.
