This week Year 5 have been investigating forces such as air resistance and gravity. In our Science lesson, we gathered information about why objects fall and which variables affect how quickly an object falls. We discovered that weight has an impact on how quickly an object falls and also the size of an object. Using this learning, we conducted an experiment to find out which material would make the best parachute. The Year 5 children loved making their own parachutes out of paper, tissue paper and plastic and conducting a fair test to see which created the most air resistance. The winner was the tissue paper parachute!
