This week, the children in Year 6 had a fantastic time in Science creating their own periscopes! The children enjoyed making periscopes in pairs and continued exploring how mirrors can be used to see things that are not directly in line with the eye. Each pair was given a template and instructions on how to make a periscope. The most enjoyable part was checking to see if the periscopes worked. The children did this by writing each other messages on a whiteboard and then checking to see if it could be read through the periscope. We then wrote up our experiment and then researched more facts about periscopes.
