In Year 4, we had a very busy week and had some fantastic opportunities to learn through hands-on activities.
Firstly, in Maths, the children used their knowledge of coins and their values to work out total amounts and change. They worked collaboratively to demonstrate their understanding through the use of the coins, which then required them to develop their reasoning skills to as they needed to explain how they got their answer.
Lastly, in Science, we worked in teams to create electric circuits using the components provided. We made predictions and then carried out an investigation to see how we can make a successful electric circuit, and make a bulb light up. We also challenged our thinking, to then discover what might happen if we increase or decrease the batteries or bulbs.
What an exciting week we had!
