This week in Reception were learning about traditional tales. A traditional tale is a folk tale or fairy story which has been passed down for many generations and is well-known within a particular culture. We have been reading the traditional tale, The Three Little Pigs.
In Literacy the children understood that characters have feelings and wrote sentences to describe the feelings of the pigs and the wolf. They used character stick puppets, masks and small world story characters to retell the story to their friends and teachers.
Our Numeracy topic this week was Spatial Reasoning. The children learned that shapes can be combined and separated to make new shapes. Some children were confident to name and describe 2 shapes and Numicon shapes using mathematical language.
Overall, children worked hard and did some amazing learning this week. This was evident in the superb work they delivered throughout the week. Well done children! Have a lovely half term break to be ready for your learning when you are back.
