This week, as a fun activity, the year 1 children had to use their pencil as a magic wand and discuss their super power with their partner.
We are currently reviewing the RWI programme Set 3 sounds. To secure these sounds we started the week the beginning with ea, cup of tea. We have all enjoyed starting a new level of reading book this week which shows how well the children have been progressing in their phonics and reading. Every day they are learning new words with these sounds to expand their vocabulary.
In Maths lessons this week we are securing the learning we made last week in multiplication. The children have enjoyed using different concrete materials to explore how to make and add equal groups and rows. These concrete materials really help with seeing the different groups. They have also been cementing their knowledge of doubling too.
