This week in year 5, the children took part in a PHSE lesson all about reconnecting with friends after a long period away from school. The children discussed how friendships are important for our mental health and well-being. They then made a class list of what makes a good friend. The children came up with some great ideas such as honesty, encouragement, and laughter. The children also discussed the changes around school and how we cannot always hug our friends, or play the same games we always used to, but it does not mean that we are not friends, just that we have to enjoy other ways of playing until the social distancing stops. The children really enjoyed the session and have adapted to the new changes at school really well!
