Grow YOUR own!
This week in history, the year 6 children have been learning about rationing and food shortages during World War II. We learnt some interesting facts such as what foods were rationed and how the rich were treated the same as the poor and had to queue up with their ration books just like the working class. We were rather shocked to see how much food was allowed to be redeemed! We also took some time to reflect on how grateful we should be for all that we have and how difficult rationing must have been for everyone. After this, we created posters encouraging people to grow their own crops in the garden with some great catchy titles.
