This week the children in year 5 took part in History Day and celebrated The Victorians as part of their topic this term. The children experienced what a typical school day consisted of and took part in lessons such as Handwriting and Poem reciting, and a Victorian Arithmetic lesson. The experience allowed the children to embed all the learning from their History lessons.
The children also had the opportunity to watch Oliver Twist, the movie which links to our reading book of the term. They thoroughly enjoyed the day!
