Year 1 are continuing to develop their knowledge in Phonics lessons using the RWI programme. The children are learning to both read and write in sets. This caters for each individual and they are able to progress further.
This week in maths we have learned about the currency of the United Kingdom. The children are able to recognise both coins and notes.
The children have been enjoying learning about Queen Elizabeth II. This week we have been learning about castles. We discussed the key features of a castle and who, where and why people built them.
In Science, we continue to watch our broad beans grow! This week we have considered the roots of a plant. We discussed the role of the roots in supporting healthy growth.
Keep up the great work, children! The teachers are so proud of your enthusiasm and focus in your lessons.
