It’s been a week of special visits in Year 6 this week as we welcomed two very important guests into the year group- both of whom were linked to our year group novel, ‘The Boy Who Biked the World’. The first was Miss Hussain’s parrot, Pupu, who is a native bird of South America, which is where the majority of our novel is set. The children (and adults!) loved seeing him and were in awe at just how beautiful he is. Our other guest was Alastair Humphreys- the author who wrote our book! Alastair joined us via video call and the children were not only able to ask him some incredibly intelligent questions about the story but they were also inspired hearing about his experiences and adventures whilst travelling the world. Definitely a great way to finish the term!
