This week the children in Year 5 created a timeline of the Victorian era as part of their History topic on the Victorians.
They researched key events that occurred during this period such as The Education Act that made schooling compulsory for all children aged between 5 and 10 in 1880, the first postage stamp, which was introduced in 1840 and in 1850 when the first post boxes were built.
The children then found images to match these events and created a Victorian timeline. It was wonderful to hear the discussions that took place between the children on the key events and legacies that have impacted their lives today. Here's to our young historians!
