This week Year 3 had great fun on Science Day. They thoroughly enjoyed taking part in various exciting activities and learnt so much. One favourite activity that everyone loved was learning all about pollination by being a bee. A few children pretended to be flowers while the rest of the children picked up pollen (we used different coloured pom poms for this) and transferred these to the flowers. This really helped the children to understand that when pollen rubs off onto a different part of the flower it enables the plant to make seeds. There was even a race to see who could transfer their pollen the fastest to be the busiest bee! What great fun!
