Riaba – 6 Sequoia
Working with fractions, decimals and percentages can be quite daunting, especially when it appears in word problems. Riaba worked collaboratively on a tricky word problem where she had to convert between units of measurement and between fractions and percentages. Her calculations clearly show her thought process and how she scaffolded each problem. It is a great skill when pupils can convey their thought process through mathematical devices such as bar models and diagrams and Riaba has demonstrated this very well.
