Action 4: Instruments for All

To ensure that all pupils learn to play a musical instruments from the age of four.

At Montem Academy, we firmly believe in the transformative power of teaching all students to play a musical instrument. We recognise that the process of learning an instrument cultivates invaluable skills and mindsets that are essential for a child's holistic development. Through dedicated music instruction, our pupils engage in a journey of self-discovery, unlocking their innate capacities for discipline, focus, and creativity.

Impact 2023-2024

In the 2023-2024 school year, the introduction of teaching all pupils how to play a musical instrument had a profound impact on our young people, unlocking their innate capacities for discipline, focus, and creativity.  This initiative not only fostered a love for music but also led to numerous performances both within the school and in the broader community, showcasing the pupils' growing confidence and skill. Furthermore, there was a remarkable surge in the number of pupils pursuing after-school music lessons, a testament to the quality and enthusiasm of our experienced teachers and external music provider. This widespread engagement in music has significantly enriched the school culture and provided students with valuable creative outlets.
