|Assemblies at Montem Academy - Autumn Term 2017|
On Friday the 29th of September, our assembly was on diversity, focussing on religions and culture.
The main difference between culture and religion is that culture is based on the shared values of human beings; it tends to be manmade while religion is wholly associated with the God, The Creator. We could be culturally different in the way we prepare food, our clothes, the way we dance, our marriage ceremonies and how we greet each other. While religion brings into focus morality, beliefs and rituals and things that are sacred. Christianity and Islam are the largest religions in the world while Judaism and Sikhism are the smallest. Regardless of the religion, they all have one central belief which is to help others and be kind.
